Worship

LCM worship is all about God! It is all about learning to tell the truth about God and the truth about ourselves. It is about enacting the message of saving life that can be found when God comes to us in Jesus Christ. It is about being released from our broken past and learning not to be anxious about our future. It is about being still and knowing that God, not us, is God (Ps. 46:10).
LCM's particular style of worship could be called 'ancient/future.' We are not interested in disconnecting from our rich Christian past that has been passed down to us from our ancient grandparents. What that means is that the form our worship takes is known as the liturgy, "the work of the people", an ancient worship form that dates back to the first century apostles (Acts 2:46, the people gather, proclaim the word, break bread and are sent to serve in God's name). While we use an ancient form to guide our worship we are also interested in integrating a variety of musical styles such as contemporary songs, hymns, and global music. We use the technology of our day to make worship a visual experience as well. LCM is a Word and Sacrament community that weekly gathers to celebrate how God is being made known to us in the Word (Romans 10:17) and in the breaking of the bread (Luke 24:35).
Don't be misled, the liturgy is more than going through the motions, as if we only repetitively recite words without paying any attention to what we are saying. It's as if my wife only needed to hear the words "I love you" once in a lifetime and was then satisfied that I never repeated those words again. Some words, we believe, are necessary for repeating and proclaiming over and over. Check out this website to see how this form of worship can be a template for the daily life of faith in Jesus. www.livingliturgy.blogspot.com
